Beauty with a purpose: 876 Nurses invests in Jamaica's women and communities

At 876 Nurses Home Care Services Limited, caring for Jamaica extends beyond the patients and families we serve each day. It also means supporting the people, programmes and initiatives that contribute to the continued development of our communities and our country.

This commitment is reflected in our continued sponsorship of the Miss Jamaica World Eastern Region competition. For two consecutive years, 876 Nurses has supported young Jamaican women throughout different stages of their pageant journeys—investing in their growth, their platforms and their ability to make a meaningful difference.

Our sponsorship journey began in 2025 with Amanda Campbell, who represented 876 Nurses in the Miss Jamaica World Eastern Region competition. We later supported T-Dane Gordon as Miss 876 Nurses at the national Miss Jamaica World competition.

In 2026, that journey continued with Akaycia Williamson, whose outstanding performance earned her the title of Miss Jamaica World Eastern Region 2026 and a place among the Top 10 finalists in the national Miss Jamaica World competition.

Each of these young women has represented qualities that 876 Nurses is proud to support: confidence, discipline, compassion, purpose and a commitment to positively influencing the lives of others.

The Miss World organisation’s longstanding “Beauty With a Purpose” principle encourages contestants to look beyond the crown and use their voices and platforms to champion causes that improve lives.

It is a philosophy that aligns naturally with the values of 876 Nurses.

For us, true beauty is reflected in compassion, service and the willingness to help others. It is found in a woman who understands that her influence can be used to educate, advocate and inspire positive change within her community.

Our sponsorship of the Miss Jamaica World Eastern Region competition is therefore about more than supporting an event. It represents our belief in the potential of Jamaican women and our commitment to helping create opportunities for them to grow into confident advocates, leaders and agents of change.

Pageantry at this level requires far more than presentation. Contestants must demonstrate intelligence, discipline, social awareness, confidence and a genuine commitment to service.
